Ringing, buzzing, roaring, clicking, and hissing are terms commonly used to characterize tinnitus, the perception of sound in the ear(s) or head without any external source of noise. Although there is no definitive cure for tinnitus, treatment avenues such as sound therapy and counseling have shown potential in alleviating the symptoms.

The Starkey Relax application serves as an educational tool and self-management resource designed to complement a hearing professional’s sound therapy regimen for individuals grappling with tinnitus. Sound therapy leverages various sounds to mitigate the intensity or prominence of tinnitus.

With Starkey Relax, users can custom-tailor 12 different relief sounds by adjusting volume, frequency response, and fluctuation speed to create personalized relief tailored to their specific tinnitus profile. The application enables users to craft unique relief sounds alongside calming visuals to adapt to the ever-changing nature of their subjective tinnitus.

Starkey Relax supports the playback of relief sounds on Apple devices or any connected speakers/headphones. Furthermore, users have the flexibility to stream these relief sounds from their Apple device directly to Made for iPhone hearing aids or 900sync hearing aids (via the SurfLink Mobile device) from leading brands such as Starkey, Audibel, NuEar, MicroTech, and AGX Hearing.
